ECL Playground is blank

Comments or questions specific to the features of ECL Watch

Ever since I started using VM-4.0.2-2, my ECL Playground page is showing as blank after a brief 'loading' message. Any ideas why?

Thanks,
Gayathri

Hi Gayathri,

I just tested my community_4.0.2-2 VM, and the ECL Playground is showing up fine in both Firefox and IE. I don't see any open issues reported. Have you tried a different browser?

I was going to ask:
1. What URL are you using?
2. What browser version are you using?

Are there any console messages (Press F12 and click on the console tab - available in most browsers).

1. I am using http://<VMIP>:8010/ to connect to ECL Watch
2. I am using IE version 10
3. Yes, there are error messages in the console - given below

SCRIPT1010: Expected identifier
TargetSelectWidget.js, line 198 character 68

SCRIPT1010: Expected identifier
ESPWorkunit.js, line 217 character 81

dojo/parser::parse() error[object Error]

In both cases, it seems to error out in the lines referring to 'TpLogicalClusterQueryResponse'

Is "compatability mode" on?

If so can you turn it off and see if that helps?

Compatibility View isn't ON.

The issue you are seeing has been fixed in a later build and has to do with the use of "default" in a qualified object identifier:
if (response.TpLogicalClusterQueryResponse.default)...

The reason I am a little confused is that this only affected (I thought) IE-8 (hence the question about the compatibility mode).

Can you try the following:
1. Open the playground in its own web page: http://<VMIP>:8010/esp/files/stub.htm?Widget=ECLPlaygroundWidget
2. Press F12 and ensure your browser is in IE10/Standards mode (see attachement).

Thanks,

Gordon.

Thanks Gordon! Problem solved.

This time, it did tell me in Dev tools that it is running in compatibility view because 'intranet sites' are asked to (no indicator in the address bar, though!). I unchecked the compatibility view option for intranet and it started displaying fine. Now it works from ECL watch too.
