myeclagent temp folder
Hi there,
I was wondering if someone can help answer this query for me.
We are trying to keep our disk space usage nice and clean and regularly perform clean-ups
However I have just noticed We have around 36,000 files and 100Gig of data in the :
/var/lib/HPCCSystems/eclagent/temp folder.
with file names such as :
W20180314-142635.spill_sort_0xc863d0.45_140659541950464_3266
W20180312-112025.~spill__scope__7__W20180312-112025
Can we remove everything that is in that folder without causing any issues?
Thanks in advance

For the short term, after you make sure that no jobs are running, you can safely delete these files.
Typically, these temp files ae automatically deleted, but for some reasno you have some that were left behind. We suspect that the jobs that created these temp files terminated abnormally.
Can you check if the workunits named in the temp files did indeed terminate unexpectedly?
HTH,
Jim

Hi Jim,
Thanks for getting back to me that makes sense as the date stamps on these files are spread out over the year, and we did have some hardware issues last year which would have led to the cluster / work units terminating unexpectedly.
All the best
