Install and Configure S3 packages on your Landing Zone node

Questions or comments related to Cloud Computing and the HPCC Systems Instant Cloud for AWS

Reading the documentation it states:
"To move files to or from S3 storage, the S3 packages must be installed and configured on your Landing Zone node.
1. Open a console window and connect to the Landing Zone (LZ) node"

OK, I know the IP address for the landing zone node, but this simple connection process I need help with....

My request for help is:
I'm using a Terminal session on a Mac and was wondering if the steps could be outlined a bit:

Example: Using Terminal on a Mac
1) select "Shell/New Remote Connection
2) select "Secure Shell" and add the landing zones IP address as a "server"
3) enter the UserID that you use to...etc

Even if you don't know Mac...if you know the USERID to use that would be helpful.

Sorry for the confusion.

The user ID that you should use is "ubuntu". When connecting to a node in AWS, you will need to download the SSH key as described on page 15, and use it to connect with your SSH client.

Let me know if you need more details.

MacBookPro User: SSH key downloaded and trying to use for Secure Shell (ssh) to access landing zone ip.
1) Downloaded .PEM file.
2) Trying to store downloaded .PEM file in keychain.
Error: Unable to import an item.
The contents of this item cannot be retrieved.

I found this info:
KeyChain Access recognize a certificate file:
PEM encoded, extension .p7r, .p7b, .p7m, .p7c, or .p7s

Could this be the reason, the PEM file is not encoded or extension is invalid.

Try this:
1. Download the .pem key (say, to /Users/greg)
2. Open the OSX terminal and issue the following commands:
3. cd /Users/greg
4. chmod 400 Hpcc-key1.pem (use your key name)
5. ssh-add -K Hpcc-key1.pem (accept the prompts with "yes")
6. ssh ubuntu@ip.address.of.node (accept the prompts with "yes")

Let me know if this works for you.

Thanks for all the help:
OK good thru step 5 (no prompt for yes/no) but successfull.
Passphrase updated in keychain: keyxxxx.pem
Identity added: keyxxx.pem finished adding, all is good.

Step 6, times out.
ssh ubuntu@ip.address.of.landingzone.node (accept the prompts with "yes")

If you are timing out, then most likely you are getting blocked by a corporate firewall.
