Data for Social Good - KSU Hackathon and The ADAM Program

The aim of the March Kennesaw State University College of Computing and Software Engineering Hackathon event, was to demonstrate to students how big data analytics may be used for social good to solve problems in society that make a real difference in people's lives. HPCC Systems provided students with the opportunity to learn more about The ADAM Program and take a look at missing children trends.

CodeDay and the HPCC Systems Intern Program - Supporting Young Coders

In 2020, we accepted a CodeDay student, Jefferson Mao, on to the HPCC Systems Intern Program. He will be rejoining the program in 2021 along with two other CodeDay participants, Alexander Parra and Eleanor Carl. Virtual CodeDay Winter 2021 - HPCC Systems Big Data Challenge

LexisNexis Risk Solutions have been a sponsor of CodeDay since 2014. This program was started to provide students with an opportunity to explore careers in computer science and to introduce them to coding, The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that the last few events have taken place completely virtually, including the latest CodeDay, which was was held at the end of February 2021. 

HPCC Systems 10 Year Open Source Anniversary

HPCC Systems is celebrating 10 years as an open source platform with a new podcast series. This series will feature core members of the HPCC Systems community who contribute to the success of HPCC Systems through innovation, advocacy, and education.  This initial installment of the series features Arjuna Chala and Flavio Villanustre, discussing the early days of HPCC Systems and where we are today.

HPCC Systems Digital Badges - Recognising our Community Contributors

Community involvement in our open source project is at the heart of its success and we take great pleasure and pride in highlighting the commitment, contributions and achievements of our members. You can now display your awards on your social media profile using our new digital badges. There are 15 badges in total. Five for community accomplishments and 10 to mark the achievement of training milestones for ECL language learners, culminating in the Ultimate Master Award. 2020 Community Day Review and Resources

As we start planning for Community Day 2021, our Community Day 2020 resources are still available. Perhaps you are an ECL developer, business partner or academic researcher, a student interested in joining our intern program looking for inspiration for a project idea, or a newcomer to HPCC Systems and want to learn more. Whatever your reason, there is something for everyone, so come on in!

CodeDay Big Data Challenge December 2020

We were delighted to be a sponsor at another CodeDay event in December 2020. HPCC Systems was represented by Bahar Fardanian and Arjuna Chala, who provided support to students taking part in our big data challenge. Using the HPCC Systems Generalized Neural Network (GNN)

One of the biggest concerns that we have in education is the safety of our school campuses. To address this problem, the American Heritage School robotics team developed an autonomous, mobile robot that gathers and provides vital information to school security personnel, and, if necessary, first responders. This blog details the facial recognition training project completed by HPCC Systems summer intern, Jack Fields, a 12th grade high school student at American Heritage School in Delray, Florida.
